ATTORNEY PROFILES

 
Mark D. Haas graduated from Houston Baptist University with a B.A. and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1984, where he was a member of the national winning Moot Court team and the Order of the Barristers.

Mr. Haas was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1984, moving to Conroe to join with HOPE & MAYES, P.C. as an associate under Ruben Hope and K.Michael Mayes (now District Judge of the 410th District Court, Montgomery County, Texas). In 1987 Mr. Haas associated with Judge Mayes, and later the law office of MAYES & HAAS was formed, dissolving in 1996 when Judge Mayes was elected to the bench.  Mr. Haas and Scott Golemon then formed HAAS & GOLEMON, LLP.

In 1991, Mark Haas became Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Haas has focused primarily on cases involving personal injury and wrongful death, handling cases involving trucking accidents, car wrecks, motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, workplace accidents, healthcare negligence and medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and products liability such as vehicle defects.

Mr. Haas has also handled various consumer and business dispute matters, as well as environmental litigation.

Mr. Haas is licensed to practice in all state courts in Texas, and is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

Mark Haas is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, American Association of Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Christian Trial Lawyers Assoiciation, The College of the State Bar of Texas and The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Haas is an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and former President.

Mr. Haas has also served as a School Board Officer of Covenant Christian School from 2005-2008, and is a former President. He and his family are serving members of West Conroe Baptist Church, where he serves as a trustee and Bible study teacher. He is married to Marga, and has two children, Paige and Jaron. Mr. Haas enjoys outdoor recreation with his family such as boating, camping and hiking, and enjoys competing in running, bicycling and triathlete events.

 

 W. Scott Golemon graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tarleton State University with a B.S. and received his Masters of Science Teaching in 1984. He graduated from University of Houston with his law degree in 1987 and received his license to practice law in Texas in 1988.

In 1988 Mr. Golemon joined with Ruben Hope & Associates and later joined with MAYES & HAAS in 1991 through 1996. In 1997 HAAS & GOLEMON,LLP, was formed to continue to pursue serious personal injury and wrongful death matters, as well as complex business litigation and other civil litigation matters. Mr. Golemon has handled a wide gambit of civil matters, including trucking and car wreck cases, environmental and oil and gas litigation, suits against builders for shoddy construction, premises and work place liability, breach of contract and warranty, and insurance disputes.

Mr. Golemon is licensed to practice in all state courts in Texas, including the Texas Supreme Court, and is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Mr. Golemon is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Association of Justice, College of the State Bar of Texas, Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas and Montgomery County Bar Association, where he served as Director and then President from 2003- 2004. For over 15 years he has been the Montgomery County Bar Association Chairman for the Judges and Lawyers Buyers Group for the Montgomery County Fair, helping to raise thousands of dollars toward scholarships.  He is also a member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.  

Mr. Golemon has served the people of Montgomery County as a community leader and volunteer in a variety of ways, including being a member of the Executive Board of the Montgomery County Fair Association, and an Officer in Charge of the Livestock Auction for over 10 years. He has also served on the Rules Committee as Chairman, and the Judges Committee and Scholarship Committee of the Montgomery County Fair Association. Mr. Golemon received Committeeman of the Year award in 1996. He has also served on the Calf Scramble Committee of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Mr. Golemon, his wife Doris and their family of 4 boys are active members of Grace Crossing Church of Christ, where he serves in a variety of capacities. Mr. Golemon’s hobbies include raising livestock, hunting and fishing,  BBQ cooking and fundraising for charitable organizations, helping his boys raise show animals and helping his wife Doris direct the Montgomery County Food Bank, of which she is President.
